A Passion for Business

We are a diverse team, coming from different industries, professions, and backgrounds. Aside from our significant experience and expertise in partnering young businesses, we bring no small amount of energy, ambition, resolve and creativity.

We are passionate people who love helping entrepreneurs build big businesses, many of us having created, grown and successfully exited our own companies. These experiences allow us to really understand how difficult it is to create and grow a business. It's not just about having a great idea and a capable team: whether you are an investor or an entrepreneur, having a network of contacts and real world experience to draw upon count for as much.

Learning this over the last decade led us to create our own formal network of Venture Partners. This group now numbers in 100 or so businessmen, leaders of commerce, and entrepreneurs. Without exception, the businesses we partner leverage this group regularly and to great effect: it is a unique and invaluable resource for our companies to draw upon.

This blend of knowledge and skill has allowed us to help many great companies across several sectors thrive in recent years including LoveFiLM; Zoopla; Graze.com and Calastone.

What we look for

We are generalists preferring to back exceptional entrepreneurial teams rather than specific sectors. We look for businesses which can create, transform or dominate an industry. We will invest in Early Stage and later stage Growth businesses.  We are focused on the UK and can invest up to £5m. We have £150m to invest in the next three years.

Steps to Investment

Our investment process will always include rigorous commercial, financial, management and legal due diligence. This will involve several meetings with management and at least one site visit. We would expect to complete the whole process in three to four months.
