Octopus Ventures Limited (“Octopus”) was formed when a number of venture capital investors found that many good opportunities were financially too demanding for any one of them to undertake.

They recognised that, if they could find like-minded people, seeking similar investments but also reluctant to commit substantial proportions of their wealth to a single project, they could co-invest to their mutual benefit.

Octopus Ventures brings such investors together, so that their resources and business experience can be combined and they can adopt a portfolio approach to private company investment. The role of subsequent investment supervision can also be shared, maximising added value to Investee Companies.

Each investor nevertheless retains personal decision making power in relation to every investment and is an “Independent Investor”.
