The Company and Our Investment

In October 2006, Octopus invested an undisclosed amount into the MBO of audio/visual systems integrator and service provider AVM. Audio Visual Machines ("AVM") carries out the full design, installation and support of complex Video Conferencing and Audio Visual systems and is the UK's leading VC & AV maintenance and support provider.

Since investment in 2006, AVM has made three acquisitions, including the recent acquisition of Matrix Display Systems Ltd. With this acquisition, the combined AVM Group is now the largest audio visual systems integrator (AVSI) in the UK, with proforma turnover of c.£40m. The Group were awarded 33rd place in the 2009 Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100, up 4 places from its debut on the list in 2008.

Octopus was impressed by the AVM management team and their knowledge of the Audio Visual market. Enabling organisations to communicate and present information clearly and efficiently is a cornerstone of modern business and AVM is committed to providing the technology business needs to make this happen. Indeed, they already have a reputation for high quality service amongst their customers. We are keen to support the ongoing development of the business and especially their strategy of further acquisitive growth.
