The History Press Ltd is a publisher of distinctive ‘local interest' history books based in Stroud in the UK, with subsidiary operations in France, Germany, Ireland, Belgium and the US. The £4m investment by Octopus in December 2007 was used to acquire the assets of NPI Media Ltd in a move that instantly created the largest specialist publisher in this sector.
The Group houses four main imprints: Pitkin, Phillimore, Spellmount and The History Press.
