Matt focuses on sourcing deal flow, evaluating and assessing potential investee companies through to negotiation and documentation of deal terms and on to portfolio management.

Prior to joining Octopus he was at Shore Capital where he worked for over three years as investment manager, focused on their Puma VCTs. During this time he led numerous asset backed and mezzanine deals including transactions within the hotel, leisure and construction sectors. Prior to joining Shore Capital, Matthew was a manager at PwC in their Transfer Pricing and Economic Consulting team, where he had worked for four years after university.

Matthew has an MBA from Cambridge University and an undergraduate degree in Economics and Accounting from Bristol University.
